The River Condos in an effort to keep with our environmental commitment has adopted approximately a 2 mile stretch of the French Broad river that flows past our shores. RiverLink, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to clean up and revitalize Asheville’s waterways has awarded The River Condos our badge of honor after our second organized river clean up. All condo owners at the expense of the developers will receive a membership to RiverLink as well as three other environmental groups at closing to support the efforts of these groups to preserve our beautiful surroundings. To learn more about our nonprofit sponsors, click on their links at the bottom of our web pages.

Asheville’s The River Condos celebrated Thursday, October 17th the approval of our building permit with over 60 homeowners and business associates. Getting this building permit was a long drawn out process that developers are glad to see come to an end. It was a beautiful evening and a great time to be in Asheville, NC sitting along the French Broad River enjoying the end of the fall season. We had a fantastic turnout from our building’s development team. Tony Keith from Keith Architects in Greenville, SC came with an associate as well as John Folk from Able Constructors in Greenville were on hand to answer questions from new homeowners. Robert Steffen from Sutton-Kennerly engineering here in Asheville and Stephen Lee Johnson with Asheville’s Sitework Studios landscape architect firm were also available for clients to ask questions. Tracy Davids, Executive Director of SABP, one of the environmental groups we support, came out to discuss her organizations mission to save our national forest from unlawful logging and protect biodiversity within the forests. We also were glad to introduce our web optimization company Search Placement to our guests. Since Search Placement has taken over as our web optimation company, we have moved up considerably in the ranks on all the major search engines. For those of you who were unable to attend, we will definately have many more opportunities to celebrate in the near future so keep checking in with us. Happy Halloween for the your devleopment team at The River Condos in Asheville, NC.

The quarterly House Price Index (HPI) for Q2 of 2007 has just been release and delivers good news for Asheville real estate owners. Those looking to buy real estate in Asheville may want to lock in a contract before prices continue to climb! The Asheville Citizen-Times had this to say about the recent report:
“The Asheville area ranked 10th among metropolitan areas across the country in home appreciation over the 12 months that ended June 30, even though the rate of increase slowed during the second quarter, a federal agency says.
Asheville’s House Price Index rose 1.2 percent during the second quarter of 2007 and was up 10.9 percent over 12 months, the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight says. The national rate of increase was only 0.1 percent for the quarter and 3.2 percent for the 12 months.
Appreciation in the Asheville area — Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson and Madison counties — was 3.2 percent in the first quarter of the year.
The index is based on an examination of repeat sales or refinancing of homes and does not include those with mortgages greater than $417,000.”
